What Is Root Number in Vedic Numerology?

When someone begins learning Vedic Numerology, the Root Number is usually the first number they encounter. It is easy to calculate, but it plays an important role in understanding a person's basic nature, natural responses and behavioural tendencies.

How is the Root Number calculated?

The Root Number is calculated from the day of birth only. If the birth date is a single digit, that digit itself is the Root Number. For a two-digit birth date, the digits are added and reduced to a single digit.
